Hunter's hog and a new contest.

Update! Hunter's hog is back from the taxidermy shop. Looks like a real bad hog and a happy Hunter.  Refer back to the 5-17 post for the big picture.

Joe Schell being a friend of ours has offer one of his custom antler handled knives as a prize to one of Tim Cosby's grandkids.   The knife will be awarded to the grandkid that kills the biggest buck this deer season.  So the competition is on between Hunter,Zach, Daniel and Erin.
Hunter killed a spike the first day of youth season and to quote Hunter "I'm in the lead but not by much".
The grandsons have practically eliminated Erin already as she is in college and involved in a lot of social activities and will have little time to hunt. But wait she did kill the biggest turkey this last turkey season. You boys better not take her out if the equation just yet.
We still have a long deer season ahead. Stay tuned.

This series of pictures shows the Joe Schell prize knife as it was being forged, filed, heat treated and finished. Joe made the knife as a prize for one of Tim Cosby's grandkids.  The one killing the biggest deer this season wins the knife. As stated in an earlier post Hunter is in the lead with a spike. Long deer season ahead.
Great looking knife Joe.  This should increase their time in the woods after a big buck. We'll let you know how the season progresses.
