I have sworn off the Rock Island auctions for the rest of the year. This time it was a Bob Watts rifle that came up for bid. Bob was a full-time builder from Stone Mountain,GA. He used to come to our shoots in Alabama on occasion. I haven't seen a lot of his rifles, but those I have seen are usually slender and a smaller caliber. This rifle is a .45cal. with a swamped barrel and a Haddaway lock.
The eagle appears to be hand sculptured.
The fore-arm escutcheons have more engraving than the bordered fore-end escutheons
Obviously.. you just need more storage room...
