Well there we were. Circling Lexington trying to find the exit for Paris, KY. Finally found the right road and headed northeast through the double fences and stone walls of horse country. It is a nice scenic ride through all the manicured horse farms along the highway to Paris. We finally arrived at our turn and threaded our way through the one lane railroad under pass to Wayne's place along Stoner Creek. Some folks were already there and some had yet to arrive. Brooks was out fishing along the creek. After getting our gear to the bunk room we joined the festivities. Ron introduced us to Ale81 soda. A pretty tasty citrus ginger ale drink. Wayne had 20lbs. of pork loins and Tim brought two pork butts from Alabama. Covered dishes were in abundance. We had plenty to eat.
After dinner drinks were accompanied by tale telling, rifle show-and-tell, and war stories. Turns out that LC Rice and another fellow were at the same base in Alaska about 40yrs. apart. Later on people went back to their hotels, and we retired to the living room for a nightcap.
