My wife just rolls her eyes but doesn't say anything. This one just arrived last week. It is a 42"swamped .50cal. From that time period I would guess that it is a Getz barrel. More or less new condition, but built in 1977. The year we got married!! OMG! Has it been that long?
The rifle is based on the Verner rifle but with Mr. Mrock's variations. The original has incised carving, but one has mostly raised carving. It has a Siler lock. The patchbox has a hidden release. The toeplate screw is the release, and the toeplate itself is pinned on. There are some good pictures in Mr.Weil's book.
