This is my new(to me) .62 cal. rifle built by Joe Schell. Picked it up at the Alabama KY. Rifle Show held at the Joe Wheeler State Park lodge. It has a Hoyt barrel and Chambers Dale Johnson lock. With 100grr. of 2F powder it doesn't have any more recoil than a hot loaded .54cal.
I have been shooting it with a .595 ball and thick patch. The smaller ball and thicker patch combination in a round bottom rifled barrel really works well. It loads easy, fills the grooves, and doesn't blow the patches. I also tried the combo with other rifles and they all work the same way.
