Max Weader recently killed a nice six point in Pennsylvania, hunting
with his Dad, Mark Weader. Mark as you know is the owner/operator of
Jack's Mountain Gunstocks in McClure PA.
After bumping the scope of his .223, Max borrowed his Dad's 7mm Rem Mag. to use until his rifle could be re-zeroed. He spotted the deer first and determined it was a legal buck all while Mark was saying are you sure. Well as they say the proof is in the pudding. After the shot Mark asked Max if the big magnum rifle kicked anymore than the little .223, Max replied that he never felt the recoil. Sounds like Max is in line to get a bigger caliber. Christmas is on the way Mark.
Congratulations on a fine buck Max and a fine father and son experience.

UPDATE!!!
Max
continues to have quite a year deer hunting in Pennsylvania. A youth
hunter can only harvest one antlered buck but other hunters can donate
their doe tag to a youth hunter. Max hunting with a donated tag killed a
doe on Friday Dec. 8. He was using his .223 and made a fine running
shot as a stander with an adult on a man drive. The lady hunter on the
stand with him said the little (expletive) can darn sure shoot after he
downed the running deer.
Saturday (the next day)he was hunting on a stand with a friend named George. George said if I kill a buck you can have my doe tag. Shortly thereafter Max ponted out an eight point to George that he hadn't seen
George killed the eight point and dutifully handed the tag and his .308 to Max. Max again proved his ability to shoot by killing a doe that tried to slip by and only showed her neck and head at 60 yd offhand using George's .308. Now thats pretty slick, making a running shot and a fine offhand shot on two does in two days to go along with the six point taken earlier. I guess since he showed George his deer that makes him a guide and hunter extraordinaire. Wow three deer with three different rifles. Mark (his Dad) told him he was through for the year. Their freezer was full. What a year, way to go Max.
