Well I finally got a deer today. It wasn't huge, but it will eat fine. First one ever with a flinter, and the first one in many years. I got the bug to hunt this year. Retirement will do that. It was getting dark when they walked out. The whole world turned white when the pan flashed. Then I saw the deer running in a circle to get back to the woods. It ran about 30yds into the cover before falling over from a heart shot. The rifle is a .50cal. flinter with a tapered H&H barrel.. There is a better picture of the rifle on my Nov. 2015 post. Really nice handling lightweight treestand rifle.. Sorry for the out of focus picture. The fellow at taking the picture didn't know to wait to let the camera focus.
