Some samples of exceptional wire inlay.

The late Frank Bartlett was probably one of the best contemporary wire workers building muzzleloading rifles at the time of his death in 2006. These are examples of some of Frank's wire work taken from pictures Frank shared with his friend Tim Cosby. While the extensive use of wire was not historically correct Frank was known for his exquisite wire work and if that was what his customer wanted he gladly wired one. As Frank was fond of saying "I try to build what the customer wants". I think these customers got their moneys worth if they wanted wire on their rifles.  These are pictures of pictures but the detail is good enough to show the work.
