Dewitt aka the Bionic Tin Man(inside joke) killed a hog this am. He thought at first that he
missed but the hog had died in its wallow and wasn't visible from where
he was sitting. His first for sure hog kill after missing one earlier
in the year. It took a lot of patience and many trips to the hog woods
to get this job done. Congrats Dewitt.
Daytime still hunting for hogs is about as hard as deer hunting. They don't seem to have a predictable pattern on the bait. Even with regular baiting it seems like they just randomly drift through the area instead of waiting around the bait.. On top of that the Alabama heat makes them feed more at night.
(There is some discussion by the folks in the Ramer area about whether he used the rifle or the truck to kill the hog. With only one other person to corroborate his story there is some doubt about the actual weapon. ;-)) )
