Successful patch !!!

Here are a few pics of my attempt at patching a knot.  It was a cheap $15 piece of wood that I bought from TVM as a second.  They couldn't sell it as a first quality stock due to the knot that showed up after bandsawing it.to profile.  Also a chunk came out during shaping.  Their misfortune = my deal.  I also bought two other second grade stocks nicer than this one.  I mixed stained sawdust and epoxy to make a paste and put it in the hole.  With what was left of the knot for contrast it doesn't look too bad.  I also used this stock as a test bed for learning scraping/burnishing and using aquafortis stain.  Also used it for my first attempt at moldings.  Couldn't put one on the belly because the knot area was too hard to cut.

Notice the way the knot went through the stock.  Kind of strange but gives it different type of figure.  Also there is a smaller knot on the stock at the right of the picture.  It also goes through the stock for some more figure on the other side.  Note:  The BP gap isn't quite that big.  The BP doesn't have the screw pulled all the way down.
