Finally got some new material for the blog. Hog season has fallen through so no pictures of them.
Here we have a rifle won by Wayne Estes on the June Rock Island auction. The auction was a world record breaking gun auction. It raised $21.1 million.
This rifle is a .58cal. with a 42" swamped barrel from 1980 built by Jud Brennan. Don't know who put it in the auction or where it has been in its travels, but it is now at its new home at the Stoner Creek Resort and Spa.
The Stoner Creek Resort is a full service resort including a marina that has slips for yachts up to 100ft. along with dry indoor storage for the same size boats. For those flying instead of cruising the resort also has a 5000ft. uncontrolled(means no tower) runway. The runway lights are radio controlled. If you get hungry or the chef on your yacht takes the day off, there is also a 3-star restaurant in the 10 story BnB building. However, in order to maintain the required social distancing, it only has two tables. Call early for dining reservations or(for the patient folks) get in line a day or two in advance.
