New rifle from Nate Stephenson.!!

Just took delivery of my new rifle from Nate Stephenson.  We did the old Cracker Barrel hand-off as I passed through his neighborhood heading home from a trip north.  It is a sort of poor boy work rifle with a little decoration.  I had some wood, triggers, and a lock that were looking for a home, but I didn't want another fancy that I would be scared to scratch.  He fixed me up with a .54cal. 38' C weight Colerain barrel and made the sideplate and ramrod pipes.  I had him bend the guard close to the wrist to allow a good grip for my smaller hands.  I don't care for those hand-filling straight griprail guards.  Makes the rifle feel like you grabbed a ball bat or something.  This guard has a long bow with a lot of room to place the triggers.  We discussed where to  place the triggers in the guard.  He placed the guard where the bent grip would line up with the wrist for the best feel..
The lock is a lefthanded L&R personally assembled by the Appalachian Lock Hacker sometime in the 1980s.  Nate engraved a little on it to give it a late English import lock sort of look.
It is hard to see, but I had him put a sling swivel on the front in case I want a sling.
Nate and the rifle.

The nice little squiggle behind the cheekpiece is all that is needed to accent the area.

It has a little spearpoint/beavertail around the tang to decorate that section.

The incised molding follows the cheekpiece decoration to tie things together.
The lock panels have incised diamond shaped tails on them.  A nice touch.
This is a big guard, but I liked the coffin front and tapered back tangs.

The lock is on the correct side of the stock.
